What is NDIS and Housing?

Depending on the level of support you require, you may be eligible to access NDIS funded accommodation. For eligible participants, the NDIS provides funding for housing to enable those living with a disability to receive the support they need in a safe and comfortable environment. The type of housing does depend on the individual and their needs as well as the funding available to NDIS participants.

What is Independent Living Support?

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a form of in-home support provided to eligible participants either in your current home, or in a NDIS funded accommodation, like those Aspire Hub has available across Brisbane. The aim of SIL is to allow individuals to live independently, while also building capacity to develop skills.

Independent Living Support includes help or supervision with daily tasks, like personal care or cooking meals and best suited for those with higher support needs, who need help at home all the time, meaning 7 days a week, overnight.

Aspire Hub’s SIL homes are located in easy to access suburbs, close to essential amenities and services, to make everyday living simple. Our homes are also managed by our dedicated and experienced staff to assist those with high needs. However, this support may not be included in all NDIS plans, so best to check first.

What can I expect?

At Aspire Hub, our homes are situated in exciting and thriving neighbourhoods, close to public transport, medical facilities, dining, shopping and cafes. We’re all about creating safe and welcoming environments and we’ll keep you in charge of all household decisions.
