Looking for a sea change? Here are our NDIS SIL vacancies Gold Coast
July 24, 2023
Looking to make a sea change or move into supported living? As the sixth largest city in the country, there’s plenty to see and do on the Gold Coast. So, whether you love the scenic hinterland or the waves rolling at the beach, there really is something for everyone.
So, if you’re searching for NDIS SIL vacancies in Gold Coast, here’s what you can enjoy.
What’s SIL?
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is defined by the NDIS as a type of support to help you live in your home. It includes help or supervision with daily tasks like cleaning and cooking meals, with the aim to help you live as independently as possible.
For SIL the NIDIS recommends this type of support for those with high support needs, that being those who require a significant amount of help throughout the day, 7 days a week (including overnight assistance). Funding won’t cover everyday expenses like groceries or rent. For more information on what’s included in SIL, check the NDIS’ SIL guidelines.
Do I have to live alone?
Not necessarily, SIL funding can be used to live alone, or you may want to live with other NDIS participants. At Aspire Hub, we’ll work with you to find a vacancy that suits your preferences and needs.
What’s included?
Though plans and services may differ, at Aspire Hub, we’re all about empowering individuals to live the life they choose. We can assist with daily living tasks like grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning, as well as personal care like dressing, personal hygiene, and toileting. Medication management, and assistance in lifestyle activities like engaging with hobbies, socialising and personal development to support individuals to achieve their goals, are all also included in our SIL services.
What funding do I need?
Supported Independent Living requires pre-approval from the NDIS. However, if SIL is not in your NDIS plan, we can use your CORE Budget to pay for Short Term Accommodation. Reach out to us for more information or if you have difficulty checking or applying for an NDIS plan.
Why the Gold Coast?
The need for SIL NIDIS options on the Gold Coast is on the rise. Recent Census data showing 5.5% of the total Gold Coast population live with a disability. As a leading provider of supported accommodation, we’ve included the Gold Coast in our housing vacancies to support this need. For a full list of our NDIS SIL vacancies, see more here.

Animal lovers will enjoy Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, creatives, and movie buffs will love a trip to Home of the Arts, while sports fans can catch a game at Cbus Stadium.
