It’s no secret that having a social lifestyle has a positive effect on your life. Our funded supports include increased social and community participation NDIS day programs that provide opportunities to join social groups, develop skills, and meet new people. Discover a fulfilling and fun-filled experience with Aspire Hub’s programs!
What’s included in Aspire Hub’s increased social and community participation NDIS programs?
Our NDIS funded day programs for increased social and community participation are designed to help achieve your goals relating to social participation, involvement in recreational activities and community participation. Funding for these programs may be allocated from the Core and Capacity Building budgets in your NDIS plan. If you have the ‘Assistance with Social and Community Participation’ supports category listed under your Core Supports, or ‘Increased Social and Community Participation’ within your Capacity Building supports, you may be eligible for our social and community participation programs.
Aspire Hub’s Bright Futures program can help you participate in a range of different activities such as neighbourhood events, sporting programs, day programs for adults with disabilities, camping trips, and more! When you choose Aspire Hub as your NDIS community participation provider, you may get access to:
- day trips and special excursions
- assistance with meeting new people, or joining in different social groups
- support to access places like your local library, cinema or sporting grounds
- support in activities that build your skills or independence, which can be anything from cooking to learning to play an instrument.
Why is it important to engage in social and community activities?
Aside from social and community activities being incredibly fun to join, participating in programs like Aspire Hub’s Bright Futures Disability Day programs can:
- increase your confidence and skills which can be helpful for other areas of your life (e.g., employment or improving your ability to complete daily tasks)
- improve your behaviour and mood
- reduce the risk of mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety directly caused by social isolation or loneliness
- give you a sense of belonging and purpose
- provide some respite to your family and carers
- expose you to new hobbies and interests
- allow you to interact with people you normally wouldn’t on a day-to-day basis
Our Bright Futures Disability Day Program is an enriching and rewarding experience for people of any age and ability.
By actively engaging in community participation activities you can work towards several of your personal goals in an inclusive and engaging environment. Most importantly, our experienced team is able to help you make new friends, learn practical skills and have a great time.
Does Aspire Hub offer pick up and drop off services from my NDIS housing to participate in social and community programs?
Your own transport is required to get to and from our Bright Futures day trips. However, if you do require assistance from a support worker to travel to and from an excursion from your NDIS housing, speak to our friendly team upon booking and we’ll be able to assist you to find transport.
