Finding a home to suit your needs

Once you’ve found the right location, it’s time to find a home that suits your needs. Take a look at your NDIS plan and see what is and isn’t included in your plan, as well as what level of support you need. Whether it’s Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) or Supported Independent Living (SIL), your plan will guide you with what to look for in a home. Need help? Before inspecting a home, we’ll also have a chat with you about your needs so we can find the right disability services to suit you, before moving in. Moving into your new home

So you’ve found the perfect home! Now what happens?

While the NDIS doesn’t fund the costs associated with moving house, we can still offer support in your new home. Most of our homes are partly furnished so in most cases you’ll only need to supply bedroom furniture, however, we’ll let you know if you need any extra furniture for your home. We’ll also let you take charge of the decision-making in your home, from decorating your room to household decisions, we’ll always keep you in the loop.

When it comes to board and lodging, we charge 70 percent of the Disability Support Pension (DSP) which covers rent, food, and utilities. – including power, gas, and water, meaning you won’t have the added burden of worrying about when and how to pay your bills (who doesn’t love that!).
