In this guide, we’re looking at our vacancies in Western Australia’s Joondalup and exploring what supported independent living we have available.
Perth vacancies
There’s no doubt it can be tricky to find a new home. Whether you’re new to the area or looking for something different, our range of Perth homes is always growing. A full list of current vacancies can be viewed here, however, if you can’t find the perfect match, reach out to us — we’re always on the lookout for new homes.
At Aspire Hub, we don’t just have homes in Perth, we also support Independent Living Australia-wide with options in Southeast Queensland too.
Joondalup, located 26 kilometres north of Perth’s CBD is a hive of activity. Alongside sports clubs, shopping, and a library, there’s also the annual Joondalup Festival and Kaleidoscope Festival taking place in the town. Plus, the suburb has several parks for bird watching, exercising and just enjoying the general great outdoors.
Our range of disability accommodation in the area is also well-connected to schools and tertiary education, as well as hospitals and public transport, so you’ll be in a central location and sure to find everything you need.
What can I expect?
Supported independent living (SIL) is currently offered in our Perth vacancies and is best suited for those with high needs. The NDIS defines SIL as a type of support for those who need some level of help at home throughout the day, 7 days a week, and overnight. While SIL funding through the NDIS won’t cover costs like rent or groceries, it will be used for support like a carer or support coordinator so you can have on-hand assistance while still living as independently as possible.
If you’re looking for Short-Term Accommodation (STA) or respite care, this is also available in our homes. STA is best suited for those looking for a temporary place for example, if a primary carer is ill or looking to take a break. We get it, things happen, and this assistance can range from a couple of days to a couple of weeks.
On the other hand, Individual Living Options, or ILO, are new to the NDIS and a great option for those looking for homes that can be tailor-made to an individual and their needs, including personalised support.
Though SDA funding may be included in your NDIS plan, this doesn’t necessarily cover services or support, so it’s best to reach out to us for more information. No matter your needs, our team will help you find a home you love that will best suit you and tick off your goals. Rest assured, you’ll always be in a safe place where you can be yourself and you’ll always be involved in household decisions, from choosing your home to decorating it.
